They live alone and want to maintain their independence but we worry about their well-being...or perhaps we worry because we fear they are forgetting to take the medications necessary to maintain good health?  And, how much more do we worry after they have had surgery or have just been discharged from the hospital, insisting they want to go back to their home, alone?

We worry because they don’t have anyone to look in on them, but their caregivers need to get away once in awhile.

Who are “they”?

“They” might be a parent, aunt, uncle, brother, sister, son, daughter, dear friend or neighbor.  “They” all, in most cases, live alone.  Perhaps “they” are a senior citizen, an individual with a disability, someone that is medically at-risk, someone that recently had surgery or a hospital confinement, or someone whose caregiver needs a break.

Who are “we”?

“We” are the family members, caretakers, friends, parents and neighbors of those referred to as “they”.  We are the ones that love and care for them.

What can we do to make sure they are OK every day?

Our concern for “their” safety and well-being is always at the forefront of our minds and we want to do all that we can to make sure they are OK, every day.  We worry…

  • What if they would slip and fall and be injured?
  • What if they aren’t taking their medications when they are supposed to?
  • What if they wonder away and then can’t find their way home? 
  • What if they awaken disoriented?
  • What if they faint?  Or hit their head and slip into unconsciousness? 
  • What if they don’t awaken at all? 
  • What if they are still climbing ladders or getting up on stools to reach things?
  • What if your child encounters problems on their way home from school?

We wish we could call to check in on them at least once a day but we can't always do that...  and, is once a day even enough?  We would all like to be able to call or stop in and spend some quality time with our beloved senior, individual with a disability or our medically at-risk person for awhile when it’s convenient for us.  Wouldn’t it be great to be able to do this, rather than have to remember to perform an obligatory, “are you ok?” call every morning, evening or after school and then hang up?

And, when we’re at work, the last thing our employer wants us doing is watching the time and remembering to call to make sure our child arrive home from school OK.

Call Services - Who Needs The Service?

We at Angel Telecare, Inc believe that 24-hour monitoring systems DO save lives every day, that is, IF they are wearing the device when they fall or suffer some sort of medical emergency and recognize it as such and actually press the button.

You know your "they" better than we do. Will they wear the monitoring device all the time? Do you think they might forget to wear it after they bathe? Or choose not to wear it at all various times or days?

It doesn't really matter whether they wear their device full-time and are willing to press the button... because if their phone is off the hook, if they are disoriented or if they are unconscious, the monitoring service by itself can still leave them at risk. That's where our Angel Telecare call services fill the gap and act as the "safety net". Our services are fully effective in all of those instances, no matter what!

How do we suggest the Angel Telecare services to them?

Simply, the best way is to be honest with them.  Explain that it would make you feel better and worry less knowing you have a safety net and they are being checked-in on every day, at least once a day.
